One of the world's most spoken languages. Our KS3 Spanish programme builds speaking, listening, reading and writing skills from beginner to IGCSE-ready.
What to expect.
Students learn Spanish through immersive conversation, structured grammar study, listening exercises and written tasks. Lessons cover everyday topics including family, school, travel, food, hobbies, health and the environment. The emphasis is on communication, with teachers encouraging students to use Spanish actively throughout every lesson.

Greetings, introductions, role-plays, presentations and spontaneous conversation on familiar topics.
Listening comprehension
Understanding spoken Spanish from native and non-native speakers. Dialogues, interviews, announcements and media.
Reading
Articles, letters, stories, menus, advertisements and online content. Building vocabulary and reading strategies.
Grammar
Present, preterite, imperfect and future tenses. Ser vs estar, pronouns, adjective agreement and irregular verbs.
Writing
Emails, letters, descriptions, narratives and opinion pieces with increasing accuracy, range and length.
Hispanic culture
Life in Spain and Latin America. Traditions, festivals, food, music, sport and social issues across the Spanish-speaking world.

How progress is measured.
Regular speaking and writing assessments. Half-term tests cover all four skills. Termly reports benchmark progress against IGCSE entry expectations.
Where it leads.
KS3 Spanish leads into IGCSE Spanish at KS4, where students prepare for the Cambridge International examination.

Every lesson is delivered live by a qualified teacher. Students participate through voice, chat, whiteboards and breakout rooms.
