Understand the world and your place in it. Our KS3 Geography programme covers physical and human geography, developing spatial awareness, data skills and environmental understanding.
What to expect.
Students study landscapes, weather, ecosystems, population, urbanisation, development and globalisation. Lessons use maps, satellite imagery, data sets and case studies from around the world to bring geography to life. Students learn to collect, present and analyse geographical data, preparing them for the fieldwork and analysis demands of IGCSE.

Rivers, coasts, glaciation, tectonic hazards and weathering. Understanding the processes that shape the Earth's surface.
Weather & climate
Atmospheric processes, climate zones, microclimates and the evidence for climate change.
Ecosystems & biodiversity
Tropical rainforests, deserts, coral reefs and polar regions. Human impact on ecosystems and conservation.
Population & urbanisation
Population growth, migration, megacities, urban challenges and sustainable urban planning.
Development & globalisation
Measuring development, trade, aid, TNCs and the interconnected global economy.
Geographical skills
Map reading, GIS, data collection and presentation, graph interpretation and geographical writing.

How progress is measured.
Fieldwork-style data tasks and written assignments. Half-term assessments cover knowledge and geographical skills. Termly reports give a clear picture of progress.
Where it leads.
KS3 Geography leads into IGCSE Geography at KS4, where students study depth topics and prepare for the Cambridge International examination.
