What to expect.
Students study all three science disciplines through a structured curriculum that balances knowledge with enquiry. Lessons include teacher-led demonstrations, virtual experiments, simulations and collaborative investigations. Students learn to plan experiments, collect and analyse data, and draw evidence-based conclusions.
Topics covered.
Biology
Cells and organisation, reproduction, health and disease, ecosystems, inheritance and evolution. Understanding life at every scale.
Chemistry
Atoms and the periodic table, chemical reactions, acids and alkalis, materials and their properties, Earth's resources.
Physics
Forces and motion, energy, waves (light and sound), electricity and magnetism, space and the universe.
Scientific enquiry
Planning investigations, controlling variables, recording results, analysing data and evaluating conclusions. The scientific method in practice.
Working scientifically
Using equipment (virtually demonstrated), calculating with formulae, drawing graphs and interpreting results with appropriate precision.

How progress is measured.
Teacher-assessed practicals and written assignments. Half-term topic tests cover knowledge and application. Termly reports track progress across all three disciplines.
Where it leads.
KS3 Science prepares students for IGCSE Science at KS4, where they study biology, chemistry and physics in examination-level depth.
