Young carers.

Caring responsibilities shouldn't mean missing out on an education. We're here to help young carers learn, grow and be supported.

Young carers are children under 18 with caring responsibilities — looking after a relative with a disability, illness, mental health condition or substance misuse problem.

At The British Online School, we know that young carers may need extra support to enjoy school and do well. We are committed to ensuring that every student who is a young carer is identified and supported throughout their education.

How we support young carers

One-to-one sessions

Weekly one-to-one sessions where students can come along for support, advice or just a friendly chat.

Daily form time

All students are invited to attend form time every morning before the school day begins — a chance to chat one-to-one with their form teacher.

Recorded lessons

Every lesson is recorded. If caring responsibilities mean missing a class, your child can always catch up in their own time.
